So this is going to be unpopular most likely.
So I was reading about the whistleblower in the FBI releasing the violent extremists material. A lot of fuss has been around implications that if you are associated to the Betsy Ross flag (among other symbols) it means you have a probability of being an extremist.
If we can pry our eyes away from the symbols and read the summary - not even the whole summary at the top... just the part in bold that says:
"The use or sharing of these symbols should not independently be considered evidence of MVE (Militia Violent Extremists) presence or affiliation or serve as an indicator of illegal activity, as many individuals use these symbols for their original, historic meaning, or other non-violent purposes."
So why are we upset about this? Is it profiling? Of course it is. Like any investigation, or analysis - criminal or otherwise - there are a series of boxes that get checked. If you check one or two - most likely not of interest. Check a lot of boxes, you start to meet the criteria and eventually ... yes you have a probability of getting some new attention and in this case attention that you would rather not have.
Even then, it will have had a lot less to do with a Betsy Ross Flag than what has been implied by media and politicians.
So if you are one that is having stress over this event - relax. Despite what you were told, it isn't nearly as scary once you read the fine print..scratch that... bold print at the top.
"We got one of the first red-flag laws in the state of Delaware, and my son Beau was the one enforcing it. And it made a lot of difference. It saves lives. So that’s number one."
However, 'Red Flag' laws are without question unconstitutional as they fail to met 'Due Process' requirements of our United States Constitution, the true Law of the Land.
"Number two, the idea — the idea we still allow semiautomatic weapons to be purchased is sick. It’s just sick. It has no, no social redeeming value. Zero. None. Not a single, solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers."
Freudian slip? The desire is clear.
#reasonable #commonsense #2A
well this stinks (see second definition). Looks like we are starting to redefine words quietly so that it becomes part of our lexicon and thus not to be questioned #brainwashing nah.... just change the meaning:
assault rifle
noun
: any of various intermediate-range, magazine-fed military rifles (such as the AK-47) that can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire
also : a rifle that resembles a military assault rifle but is designed to allow only semiautomatic fire
The Real Reason America Doesn’t Have Gun Control
"the 54 senators who supported the bill (plus then–Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who opposed it only for procedural reasons) represented 194 million Americans. The remaining senators who opposed the bill represented 118 million people."
Here is a hint: We are not a Democracy whereby the pure majority rule. We are a Constitutional Republic. We are a representative government that recognizes the People as well as those states within these united States.
