“At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”
Although mob action may seem expedient, according to President Lincoln, he felt that it ultimately damages the rule of law, and with it the Constitution, and with that democracy itself.
"We got one of the first red-flag laws in the state of Delaware, and my son Beau was the one enforcing it. And it made a lot of difference. It saves lives. So that’s number one."
However, 'Red Flag' laws are without question unconstitutional as they fail to met 'Due Process' requirements of our United States Constitution, the true Law of the Land.
"Number two, the idea — the idea we still allow semiautomatic weapons to be purchased is sick. It’s just sick. It has no, no social redeeming value. Zero. None. Not a single, solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers."
Freudian slip? The desire is clear.
#reasonable #commonsense #2A
well this stinks (see second definition). Looks like we are starting to redefine words quietly so that it becomes part of our lexicon and thus not to be questioned #brainwashing nah.... just change the meaning:
assault rifle
noun
: any of various intermediate-range, magazine-fed military rifles (such as the AK-47) that can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire
also : a rifle that resembles a military assault rifle but is designed to allow only semiautomatic fire
The Real Reason America Doesn’t Have Gun Control
"the 54 senators who supported the bill (plus then–Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who opposed it only for procedural reasons) represented 194 million Americans. The remaining senators who opposed the bill represented 118 million people."
Here is a hint: We are not a Democracy whereby the pure majority rule. We are a Constitutional Republic. We are a representative government that recognizes the People as well as those states within these united States.
